The statistics published in the Alzheimer’s Association 2021 Alzheimer’s Disease Facts and Figures Special Report is enough to scare anyone. Current data shows that 6.2 Americans age 65 or older have been diagnosed with some form of dementia. Alzheimer’s is now the 6th leading cause of death. And eighty-three percent of the help provided to older adults in the United States comes from family members, friends or other unpaid caregivers.
The Internet Resource Guide for Dementia Caregivers lists websites, podcasts, and groups offering free information and support for the family and friends of dementia caregivers. In addition to the original guide, you will receive monthly updates on additional resources offering relevant information.
There is a world of information available on the internet for those who have the time and patience to spend searching for it.
